Rae Post

This is going to be a long post about how cute my kid is. So if you are not in need of a Rae post, you have been warned ;)

Rae is 17 months now and it has been a while since I talked about all her new things.
We have put away her crib already. She never liked her crib and I just pushed it till now because it is safe but she is sleeping on a mattress on the floor now and does really well especially with naps!

She has some molars now, as you can see from the picture she has skipped a lot of her front teeth. Her teeth roll in very slowly. She is the pickiest eater and is having trouble gaining weight but we are working on it.

She can say some words now! She says doggie, dada, and uh-oh all the time. She says mommy when she is really upset. She also says birdie, fish, baby, poo-poo, ball, and on a rare occasion she will give you a hi or bye. Jeremy claims she says yes all the time but I don't hear it. She doesn't say no but she will shake her head no. She babbles all the time and it is so cute! She will say some gibberish something and then just start laughing like she just told a funny joke. She can point to lots of animals in her book when I ask her where they are including elmo ;)

Nothing gets her more excited than when you say where are your shoes or do you want to go outside? Running across this bridge to go to the park is an everyday joy.

We are braving the Texas July heat but Rae doesn't seem to mind. Although sometimes when we have been at the park for a long time, I say do you want to go home? and she just starts walking home, she knows the way (its just across the street), and she is probably just too hot haha

We also play in the sprinklers and go to the pool a lot too of course!

At the park we are on litter patrol and any trash I don't pick up Rae will find and give me.
In the mornings when Rae wakes up I will go lay on her bed and she will sit there and talk to me and then eventually go find her dad who is still laying in bed to talk to (by this time Jeremys alarm has already gone off and he just needs to get up) Then she will take something from our room and bring it back to me in her room and I say uh-oh better go give that to your dad and then she goes back and gives it to him and just goes back and forth. It helps wake Jeremy all the way up ;)

I have been trying to drop Rae off in nursery. Anyone who has met Rae knows that that is not going well. Jeremy and I both teach primary second hour so it is a challenge with Rae.

I keep wanting to take a video of Rae dancing because she LOVES to dance. But if I try to take a video from my phone it stops the music that is also playing from my phone... which then stops the dancing. But she loves to dance and every time I turn on music even if she is strapped in her high chair she starts trying to dance and clapping her hands.

I never posted about the fourth of July, this is Rae in her 4th of July outfit.

And her with all of her cousins. As you can see my kid is the best at taking pictures.

She was so good for all of the festivities! Summer holidays are the best because she's not sick!!!!!

The next day in church she was so tired and as soon as we got home she was asleep. Literally.

She is good at just giving herself a nap when shes tired. She would rather sleep where ever I am so sometimes I let her just nap around the house.

More pictures of my cute kid in the park.

I really do soak this in. I will miss looking down and seeing this :) I will miss it so much.

Going the distance

I have finally completely weaned Rae and what a long hard process that has been. To help get rid of our 7:00 nursing, I tried to distract her. The fourth of July was an awesome distraction and tonight we went to the vintage and walked around and got a cupcake, what better way to distract than with a cupcake. The three of us shared this cupcake, I only let Rae believe it was all hers for the picture.

The good fly

If you are going to be a stay at home mom you are going to learn to love and hopefully document all of the little moments because I have learned the sad truth that you will forget. Yesterday there was a fly in the house and Rae loved that fly. She spent a lot of the day noticing it came back and looking for it and pointing to it and laughing at it. Then at dinner it came over to her tray and she tried to feed it. Shortly after her dad killed it because it was "spreading bacteria". Rae is just such a sweet girl and she loves animals so much, even a fly.

In other news she has started to copy us when we fold our arms. The first time she did it she was in my primary class and I wanted to praise her but of course a thumbs up would have to do. She has turned into my little buddy! I am so grateful to have this buddy. I love this buddy.
