The garden, Part 1

So recently I discovered how to fit two eight foot wood boards in my car that won't fit. I've been talking about starting a garden for the last year and Jeremy always said we can't fit the wood in the car. So I told Jeremy I was gonna order stuff online to be delivered to me because he wasn't helping me find a way and then boom! just like that the wood fit in our car.

There are some days were Rae drives me crazy. I drive her crazy too because I am always saying no so it is fair... we drive each other crazy. So I thought the problem might be we don't have enough shared interests so I am trying to do more projects with her and the first idea was to get some seeds going and finally get that garden. We started some seeds in cups and most of them are just for fun and a few will make it to the garden. We are not experts we are just having fun.

Here's Jeremy doing his part to keep his girls happy!

Rae makes up for Jeremy's lack of emotion.

After we got all the dirt put in we started a row of carrots! When I asked Rae what she wanted to plant she said, "carrots and flowers!" So we have carrots in now and some flowers in the cups, we will plant more flowers for her in this little box I got her (that will be in part 2). I am trying to grow tomatoes and peppers (they are in the cups now too).

My sweaty sun boy! Can't plant carrots without my 21 lbs. of love on my back.

Here are the cups with some little sprouts in them, I am aware that you probably shouldn't plant these flowers in cups.. again its just for fun.

Rae has been helping me water every day and one day she spilled all of pepper #1 on the ground then tried to put it all back in (before there was a sprout). I thought that he would be a casualty but looks like hes pushing up the edge of the cup. woohoo Pepper #1! I think we can all learn a lesson from pepper #1 and that is if life has you all over the ground just wait till you get put back together and keep growing...... or something like that.

Happy six months

Happy half birthday Hughy man! This boy makes me so happy. He has only been with us for six months and now I don't know what we would do without him. He is starting to be able to sit up a little...

but just a little.

He can roll over. He can slowly move himself around like a clock. He has four teeth. He is wearing size 12 month clothes. He loves toys now and he really loves the bouncer. I have tried giving him some pureed avocado, sweet potato, and banana (not combined, separately) and he wouldn't open his mouth for any of it, but if I shove it in he will swallow it a couple times then get mad when I keep trying.... so.... I don't know. I will try again in a week. He never would take a bottle so a couple days ago I gave him a trainer sippy cup its like half way from bottle to sippy cup but has handles he can hold. He is definitely not interested in drinking it but shaking it and listening to the sloshing is funny to him. Its interesting spell check says no to "sippy" but yes to "sloshing".

We are still living the dairy and soy free life. I read something that said In n Out burger just bought land in Houston... so we gotta get past this allergy before they build on that land.

His favorite game is when I put him in the high chair with toys and he knocks the toys off and Rae puts them back up and he laughs. When we are in the car he tries to lift his head over as far as he can so that he can look at Rae.

And the cutest thing from today: When Rae gets really upset and can't stop crying I calm her down by getting her to sing/say the words of twinkle twinkle little star. We've done it so many times that now when I say okay Rae you've gotta stop crying she will sob "twinkle twinkle mom" and we will sing it. So today Hugh was upset about something and I was changing his diaper and he kept crying and I think he hit his foot so started crying more and Rae runs into his room and says Twinkle Twinkle for baby Hugh mom! That made my heart melt but maybe you have to be living in the house to know how cute that really is.

That reminds me, a couple weeks ago we moved Hugh to his own room! Which means I officially said good bye to my newborn baby Hugh and now I am left with this chunk!

Oh man, he has my heart for sure.
